Lesson 1

Lesson 1

Where can I find comfort in my pain?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.”2 Corinthians 1:3-6

When you discovered your husband’s sexual impurity, you were probably shocked, angry, puzzled, or sad. Perhaps it was a surprise to you — or, like Kay experienced, it emerged off and on for years. “Normally it is easy for me to forgive, but it now seems to be a reoccurring pattern. I have been dealing with this off and on for years. I am tired of it. I am deeply hurt that he deliberately lied to me and I feel ashamed of myself that I was so gullible and believed him in the past. I feel rejected and somewhat trapped.”

Kay is a believer in Jesus and so she asked God to help her find a path toward comfort and healing. You can also ask the Savior to speak to your heart through this troubled time by reading the Bible and hearing real stories of women who have experienced similar situations in their marriages. Welcome to our program. We hope you find it helpful.
