Lesson 4

Lesson 4

What should I do about my situation?

Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”Psalm 50:15

After discovering her husband’s two affairs and then his pornography habits, Kristi was devastated.  She didn’t know which way to turn while they sorted through his secret sins.  Some friends recommended taking steps that she knew were not biblical.  “We always need to turn to the Lord, especially when there is a life challenge,” she said.  “My peace and joy are in the Lord, not in the situations of life.  I will say that these events have pushed me to the outer limits of what I think can tolerate, but God has healed me of other wounds so I am hopeful.   It could be a very long process.  I don’t know the outcome, but I will take it one day at a time with the Lord.”

Hopefully, the bonds of marriage and your commitment to living a Christ-like life will bring about a partnership with your husband in facing this new challenge.  If he’s not yet willing to join you in the battle for purity in your marriage, seek God’s resolution to bring about His best for you, your husband, and your marriage.  Call upon God’s promises that He will be there when the way is not yet clear.  “Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious, merciful, and righteous.”  (Psalm 112:4)

Suggested prayer:  Lord, I am calling on You in my trouble; please shine Your light in my darkness.  I trust You to deliver me through my time of need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
