Lesson 15

Lesson 15

How does God enhance healing through fellow believers?

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”1 Thessalonians 5:11

You may feel alone as you heal from the aftermath of sexual impurity.  Kay did.  She described her life as a roller coaster.  Her life consisted of many happy moments, but then she would remember the situation with her husband.  Her godly counselor had directed her to a women’s Bible study where she was assigned a prayer partner who supported her steps through recovery.  “I was grateful to the Lord for providing a godly Christian woman to help me through this difficult time.  My prayers were desperate and God’s presence was like a healing balm to my spirit,” Kay recalled.  She appreciated having a prayer partner to share her concerns, especially when her stress level was high.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  (Matthew 11:29-30)  Kay’s prayer partner was a gift sent from God, one who knew how to pray for her because she herself had been healed from sexual sin in her marriage.  God used her willingness to help others to bless women like Kay who later became a prayer partner herself.

Suggested prayer:  Dear Lord, thank You for the women You’ve sent to partner with me in prayer.  Use them, I pray, to help me heal.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Information for your prayer partner:  Please let your prayer partner know a specific area where she can pray for you.
