Lesson 16

Lesson 16

How can I see my situation more like God sees it?

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds … Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.”Psalm 147:3,5

Most hurting wives desperately want to be healed and that healing must come from the Lord.  God’s understanding is beyond measure; He does not want us to stay in a persistent state of turmoil but rather to find peace through Him.  For some, the path to healing may be through prayer, studying God’s Word, godly counsel, or some other form of healing ministry.  At various points along the way, God may reveal truths that change our perspective.

Jennifer’s spirit rebelled from the standard religious responses until the Lord helped her realize that her husband was also, in fact, her brother in Christ.  “The discovery of his sin was the Lord’s mercy over him,” she explained.  “It’s easy to be in such deep grief that one can lose sight of this fact.  This gave me a fresh perspective.  I could then treat my husband differently than being my offender.  He is also a brother who was once lost.”  She was then ready to give her roots of bitterness and her rejection issues to the Savior.  “The Lord indeed is close to the broken-hearted and crushed in spirit,” she said.  “He came through for me in those very dark times of my life.  He is God with me, Immanuel.”

Suggested prayer: Dear Lord, Your understanding is beyond measure.  Give me a fresh perspective so that I may work together with You for my healing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
