Lesson 62

Lesson 62

How Can I Show Grace And Be A Blessing To My Husband?

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work … You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.”2 Corinthians 9:8,11

We can be living witnesses of God’s grace right in our own homes as we create an environment for our marriage and family to blossom in Christ’s love. God gives generously so that we may be generous to others, particularly those right in our home.

Through her husband’s struggles with impurity, Kristi sometimes got very frustrated. “I don’t always understand my husband’s struggles with life issues and I may not get much recognition from my husband for the extra efforts I make for him to feel comfortable. Yet I need to do the right thing instead of just reacting to my husband’s attitudes and actions.”

Kristi continued, “Though I’ve been married many years, working through the sexual impurity drove me to God’s Word in a new way. The ministry of being a wife has taken on new meaning. My role still requires that the dishes are done, the bed is made, and meals are ready, but the support I give my husband in his spiritual growth is of greater value and importance. I keep better track now of my husband’s schedule so I can have things ready for him or be available to assist him in preparing and carrying out his responsibilities. I want to be the wife God wants me to be. And now I have the privilege of watching my husband assist other men out of their sexual bondage. It’s a rewarding experience for me.”

Suggested prayer:  Dear Lord, You are so generous with Your grace to me. Give me a new vision of my ministry as a wife, sharing the grace You’ve given to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
